1.What are the conventional and unconventional colors of sealant? 

The conventional color of sealant generally refers to three colors: black, white and gray.

In addition, the manufacturer will also set some other commonly used colors as fixed colors for customers to choose, in addition to the fixed colors provided by the manufacturer can be called unconventional color (color) products, usually need to add another color cost.

2.Why are some colors not recommended by manufacturers?

The color of sealant comes from the pigments added to the ingredients, which can be divided into organic pigments and inorganic pigments: organic pigments and inorganic pigments in the application of sealant color, have their advantages and disadvantages. When you need to modulate more bright colors, such as red, purple, etc., you must use organic pigments to achieve the color effect. The light resistance and heat resistance of organic coatings are poor, and the use of organic pigment toning sealant products will naturally fade after a period of use, affecting the appearance. Although it does not affect the performance of the sealant, it is always mistaken for a problem with product quality.

Some people believe that the color will affect the performance of the sealant, and it is not unreasonable. When modulating a few dark products, due to the inability to accurately grasp the amount of pigment, the pigment ratio will exceed the standard. The excessive pigment ratio will affect the performance of the sealant. It needs to be used with caution.

Mixing colors is more than just adding paint. How to adjust the accurate color without error, how to ensure the stability of the product on the basis of changing the color, is a problem that many manufacturers have not yet solved.

Structural adhesive has one component and two components. Under normal circumstances, group A is divided into white, group B is divided into black, and it is black after being mixed evenly. In GB 16776-2005, it is clearly stipulated that the color of the two components of the two-component product should be significantly different. Its purpose is to facilitate the judgment of whether the structural adhesive is mixed evenly. At the construction site, the construction personnel have no professional color mixing equipment, and the two-component color mixing products may have problems such as uneven mixing and large color difference, which will seriously affect the use of the products. Therefore, the vast majority of two-component products are black, and only in rare cases will gray be customized.

Although the single-component structural adhesive can be uniformly toned during production, the performance of black products is the most stable. Structural adhesive plays an important role in structural fixation in buildings. Safety is more important than Mount Tai, generally do not recommend color.

4.How to choose the right transparent sealant?

Transparent adhesive products are often used when the glass plate is jointed, but the actual effect is unsatisfactory, usually transparent adhesive is milky white after playing.

At present, the silicone transparent adhesive on the market is divided into acidic transparent adhesive and neutral transparent adhesive, which is more transparent than neutral, and can also be used for long-term water soaking, and is mostly used for water viewing containers such as glass fish tanks. However, acid glue can not be used for coated glass and laminated glass. Neutral transparent adhesive is generally used for glass plate joints.

5.Why does sealant turn yellow?

In the process of use, occasionally encounter the yellow surface of the sealant, mostly caused by the "compatibility" problem.

Compatibility refers to the performance of the sealant and the material in contact with it will not have adverse physical and chemical reactions. In actual use, the sealant may come into contact with the sealing strip, rubber gasket, decorative rubber strip and some waterproof materials, etc. These materials may be incompatible with silicone rubber, resulting in discoloration of the rubber surface.
