Performance and testing
1. Storage life (shelf life): The storage time during which the adhesive can still maintain its operating performance and specified strength under specified conditions.
2. Pot life (working life): The time the adhesive can maintain its usable performance after deployment. Synonyms: period of use.
3. Solids content: The weight percentage of non-volatile substances in the adhesive measured under specified test conditions. Synonyms: non-volatile matter content.
4. Chemical resistance (chemicalance): The ability of the adhesive joint to maintain its adhesive performance after being exposed to chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and salts.
5. Solvent resistance: The ability of the adhesive joint to maintain its adhesive performance after being exposed to solvent.
6. Water resistance (waterance): The ability of the adhesive to maintain its adhesive performance after being exposed to water or moisture.
7. Ablation resistance: The ability of the adhesive layer to resist high-temperature flames and high-speed erosion.
8. Permanence (durability): The ability of adhesive joints to maintain their performance for a long time under the conditions of use.
9. Weather safety (weather safety): The ability of the adhesive to withstand sunlight, heat and cold, wind, rain, salt spray and other climatic conditions.
10. Bonding strength: the low temperature required to cause damage to the interface or adjacent areas between the adhesive and the adherend in the bonding process.
